We first saw this CB Rack in March of 2001. I don't even remember where we saw it but as soon as I looked at the installation examples shown on their website, I was attracted to its versatility. It looked attractive, was flexible enough to accomodate all the switches and gadgets I'd want to install on it and it was inexpensive (I think so anyway). Questions: Why do you need one? Why not build your own? Isn't $125 expensive? (to be answered soon...)

Price: $125 direct from the manufacturer, which includes shipping.
Features: Simple to install (bolt on unless you choose to strengthen the mount with some extra screws, easily disconnected tray for installing new switches, components, modifiable for use with sound bars and roll cages.
Ease of installation: Almost couldn't be easier, unless you want to add some screws (suggested) to strengthen the windshield mount (screws included). The manufacturer provides VERY detailed instructions and diagrams to make installation easy.
2/24/2002 - Installed the CBrack without using the extra screws just to get a feel the rack. I'm trying to figure out exactly where to put our devices and switches. Although I intended to use this as a rack for our CB, we're using the Cobra 75WX all-in-one unit so the only thing I'd need to attach to the rack is perhaps the microphone part. However I now realize that attaching the mic holder to the rack would make it so the huge cord that comes with the 75WX would probably hit me and any passenger when the ride gets bumpy.
3/2/2002 - I'm very happy with the CBrack! Although I haven't actually installed anything on it yet, I really like where it sits. I was initially afraid of bumping my head on it while doing some serious offroading but I don't think that will happen now since I see it sits pretty high up. Also, I do like the extra little sun protection. It makes our YJ seem like it has a T-Top. Switches, etc, coming soon.
3/20/2002 - We're finally adding some things! First of all, you'll read over on our review of the Cobra 75WX that we decided to use an inexpensive, less fancy CB instead. We loved the 75WX, but hated to see it get scratched and caked with dust from our desert excursions without the top on. I'd rather throw away a $20 cheap CB than a $150 really nice one. Besides, the antenna seems to be the most important factor in how effective your CB is and we will mostly use our for trail runs anyway and not on the highway.
So with the less expensive CB, we WILL need a place to mount it and will be putting it on our Cool CBrack, from CBrack.com.
4/14/2002 - I just bought a small Realistic TRC-477 cb and am waiting for it to come in. To tell you the truth, I paid less than $20 for it but I hear the quality of your antenna and wiring is much more important than the price of the cb. I specifically wanted one that was inexpensive because I expect some moron to steal it someday when we stop for food or something someday. As soon as it comes it I'll install it. I also have some wiring ideas I'm still organizing.
5/3/2002 - WOW, the switch panel looks SO cool and is in a great spot. I've been riding around all week with the cb and switch panel installed on the rack (but not yet connected) and I love the position and look. Pictures coming soon!
...next...some installs.
